July Client Spotlight is Katherine Bluthardt
Katherine is a true inspiration to all of us at Missi Balison Fitness Studios in Sandpoint! She has accomplished so much with her determination, dedication, goal setting and goal accomplishing, and pure passion.
Read below for Katherine’s perspective:
Q: What is your favorite inspirational quote? “A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions”… How great is THAT?
Q: What are your personal health and fitness goals? Weight loss, get strong and healthy, eat better REAL foods and get off the meal replacement shakes!
Q: What ONE thing keeps you most focused and motivated to continue to work hard to reach your goals? That’s hard to find ONE thing, so I’d have to say knowing that I’m setting an example for my son and how he responds to my achievements… (We love this!)
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started with us? I worked as a daycare teacher for 14 yrs before getting very ill and stopped working when we moved to Idaho in 2012. After years of being poked and prodded by various doctors one finally checked my hormones-oh joy perimenopause! By last summer I had hit the highest weight I’d ever been in my life and was quite depressed. I was told by doctors not to lift more than 1 (yep ONE!) pound because of my knee pain and by the wacky OBGYN who thought my insides would fall out if I lifted anything heavy and who was pushing for me to get a hysterectomy since I had no need for those parts anymore!!! WHAT?? I kept seeing a Facebook ad for Missi Balison Fitness for her Little Black Dress program that started October 7th. My son saw me looking into it and said he’d pay for it so I could get my happiness back. I had never worked out in my life, but am so glad I walked through that door!
Q: What did you think training was going to be like vs what it actually was or what you received? I wasn’t sure what to expect. When I started I couldn’t barely do most of the exercises! I couldn’t believe how weak I had become!
Q: How has Missi Balison Fitness made a difference in your life? Ha! Where to start?! This has become my second home! Not only for the fitness but also for atmosphere of the deep fellowship and friendships that are a part of the whole Missi Balison Fitness experience. ( 💗 )
Q: What kinds of milestones have you accomplished and what specific results have you achieved so far?
- I have more energy than ever and am eating healthier! Woo hoo!
- I got off the meal replacement shakes!
- I’m getting stronger every day.
- Participated in my first Spartan race.
- Became certified as a Yoga Trapeze instructor,
- Getting certified as a Personal Trainer,
- I’ve lost over 20 pounds and 35 overall inches! Just getting started!
Q: What is your “word” of the year?! My word this year is “Purpose” this is my year to find my purpose! (Gifts+Passions+Values=Purpose) Finding where I need to be in life and what I need to be doing!
Q. What made you decide to want to join Missi Balison
Fitness? That ad for little black dress that stressed that this was a program for menopausal women and that the studio was geared toward women’s needs as we age.
Q. What would you say to someone on the fence about making a change & committing to their goals? If I can do it anybody can do it! We all start somewhere, but you have to start! This is the most supportive community of women to help you on your journey.
Here are a few things WE want to tell you about Katherine and her participation at the studio!
She has been and inspiration to so many here in such short time. On her 46 birthday Katherine posted in our private client only Facebook group (where we share sisterhood, wellness advice, motivation and silly banter) a bucket list of 46 things she wanted to accomplish in her 46th year. She has already checked off 19 of those items.
She has also been studying to take her NASM personal training certification.
She has been a story in the making and we are all so blessed to watch her grow!
What a wonderful story!
Thank you Katherine for bringing so much good energy to the studio.
